The Foundation looks forward to a world in which poverty is greatly reduced, where people have the means to support themselves and their families, where people have the health care they need and have the chance to fulfil their goals in life. We look forward to a world where the gap between the rich and poor is vastly reduced. We look forward to a world where Africa can overcome its many difficulties in terms of supporting its people.
In the nearer future we look forward to being able to support more communities with the water sanitation and hygiene they need to be able to help them go to school, stay alive, go to work, look after their families and empower women. We look forward to establishing the roots with which the communities can grow to be able to contribute and make a difference themselves in the world.
The Foundation for Community Inspiration provides you with an effective way to help end poverty. This way is by providing water and sanitation and hygiene education to people who don't currently have it. This is an effective way to end poverty as it works towards 5 of the 8 Millennium Development Goals the world has set as targets for ending poverty, and of all the interventions experts have decided we should make to end poverty water and sanitation contributes towards a large of them. For example hunger is the number one priority. Having a constant clean water supply and sanitation and hygiene means that parasites within the body are limited and they can not feed of the food that the person should be feeding off. In other words the person loses the benefits of the food because parasites eat it inside their body. A significant amount of energy and importantly vital nutrition is lost because parasites consume the food the person is consuming. As a result water, sanitation and hygiene significantly contribute to reduced hunger. A water supply is relatively cheap at only £25 per family for life whilst providing food for example is expensive if not done in a way that supports people to help themselves.
Water and sanitation contribute to at least 5 of the 8 Millennium Development Goals.
The goals and how water and sanitation help achieve them is

The Foundation is currently raising money for water and sanitation programs in Mali. These water and sanitation programs are carried out by established experts in the water and sanitation field, ‘Water Aid’, so your money will have experience it needs to produce good results and make sure that everything is carried out with due diligence and care and attention.
To feel more confident about donating to this cause, please see our previous completed work in Ghana. The Ghana Central Region Program aimed to help a community in Ghana provide better accommodation for schooling as well as a much wanted community centre facility. The Ghana Central Region Program page will show you more about how we successfully completed the program.
Please make a decision to donate what you can now. Through supporting water and sanitation you can really make a difference. Donations can be made through our donations page.
The Foundation for Community Inspiration is a small charity based in Leicester. Its aim is to reduce poverty worldwide. The charity was formed in 2007 by Dr Julia Piper from Private General Practice Services. The charity offers you an intimate, cost effective way to help people in need and those in developing nations. We are currently doing this by supporting building water aid programs which support the building and maintenance of water, sanitation and hygiene systems in developing nations. We support these developments because these basic systems have huge knock on effects on the quality of life, health, economy, educations, and employment rates of people. We believe that supporting water is one of the best investments you can make to improve the lives of people in the world.
In 2007 the Foundation began its first program which was based in Ghana which worked to reduce poverty in rural villages which worked on the fruit plantations of partner Blue Skies, an award winner in corporate sustainability. This involved the founder members visiting the people in Ghana and negotiating a program with the local villages where we built a community centre for a school. This taught us a lot about development work, and what people need. Although not based on water for its first program we are now devoted to a water program with our current Mali water program which you can read more about here.
The foundation sees one of its main roles in fundraising, education and distributing information to people about poverty and how to help people. Part of general donations will go to this cause. We believe it is a good cause because it helps your money work harder to do more for the people in poor nations by increasing support financially and in other ways.
We have worked with a number of people in the past including a large group of UK schools, several leading companies such as Private General Practice Services and Blue Skies, and not to mention al the private individuals who have supported us. So far we have raised around £10,000 towards good causes around the globe.
