About Us
Who we are
The Foundation is a registered non profit charity
organization set up to help people in need worldwide.
History
The Foundation was started in January 2007
by Dr Julia Piper of
Private General Practice Services - Leicestershire’s only
dedicated private general medical practice. As part of its
foundation, the charity made a debut trip to Nsawam in the
Ashanti
region of
Ghana. There it met with
partners Blue Skies whom provided the infrastructure for the
foundation to visit various developing communities in the
Central Region of Ghana. This
led to the start of the Foundations first project - the Ghana
Central Region Project.
Partners
The Foundation has two key partners; Blue Skies – an
international producer of fresh fruit for the European market,
and Private General Practice Services - Leicestershire’s only
dedicated private general medical practice. You can find Blue
Skies at www.bsholdings.com
and Private General Practice Services at
www.privategp.com. Both
partners offer the Foundation key support. Blue Skies, based in Ghana provides transport, guide and accommodation
infrastructure, allowing the foundation to work in Ghana as well as
introduce expert volunteers who are keen to help. Blue Skies
also offers agronomy expertise, and knowledge of the surrounding
communities. Blue Skies also work to help the surrounding
communities and provide many key jobs, accounting for around 1%
of Ghana’s
exports. Private General Practice Services provides the root
finances for the Foundation and medical expertise which can help
with medical interventions.
